USHUAIA - PIRIAPOLIS cruise

OUR CRUISE TO HORN WILL BEGIN IN THE CITY OF USHUAIA

Ushuaia is located in southern Argentina in Tierra del Fuego, on the Beagle Channel, near the border with Chile. When you start your cruises with us, you can safely say that you are going to the end of the world. Ushuaia holds the status of the southernmost city, not only in South America but also in the world. This is also emphasized by its name, which comes from the Indian language and means a bay at the end.
This title is questioned by Chile, which on the island of Navarino (south of Ushuaia) is developing the fishing village of Puerto Williams, which currently has about 2,000 inhabitants and does not have full urban infrastructure, and the settlement of Puerto Toro with 100 people. Depending on the chosen stage, we will also enter the waters of the Pacific Ocean and circle the Diego Ramirez Archipelago.

CRUISE FROM HORN TO PIRIAPOLIS

The purpose of our cruise is: after passing the Horn meridian, visiting several places on the way to Uruguay. Horn itself is a cape that marks the border of the Drake Strait. The meridian passing through Cape Horn is recognized as the border between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

THE NEXT STOP IS PUERTO MADRIN

When the weather conditions are favorable, we will visit the city of Puerto Madryn, founded by Welsh settlers on July 28, 186.

The coastal waters of this city are often visited by whales, which can also be seen from the shore. These mammals took a liking to this place to give birth and train their calves. It is one of the greatest attractions of this region, but these are not the only animals that can be observed here.

Rare animals that can be found in this region are the Black-headed Dolphins, which are found only in the southern hemisphere. They are also called “panda dolphins” or “skunk dolphins” because of their coloration. This species has a black head, tail and fins while the rest are white. They reach a body length of up to 180 cm and weight up to 50 kg. They live in herds of several.

Attractions await us not only on the water. You can visit the three-story oceanfront maritime museum and learn more about wildlife and the Valdes Peninsula through interactive exhibits. Also on display is the skeleton of a whale. This small museum has a library, an art exhibition, a reservoir of small sea creatures and a room where you can feel like in the ocean thanks to the sound of whales being played. There is also an observation tower for guests to admire the panorama of the coast.

THE CRUISE FROM USHUAIA TO PIRIAPOLIS IS ALSO MAR DEL PLATA

Mar del Plata is one of the most visited cities in Argentina. The ‘Mardel’ as the locals call it has great fresh seafood restaurants, a harbor full of traditional fishing boats and lovely sea lions and handicraft markets.

In the city, you can go to the city’s aquarium, which is not only home to colorful fish tanks, but their grounds are filled with natural lagoons, an aviary and a saltwater lake. There is a swimming pool here that allows you to get closer to the sea life. You can see shows with dolphins and sea lions. In one of the most modern aquariums in South America, you can learn more about the local flora and fauna by visiting marine mammals, birds, sharks, and even the few rescued animals that rehabilitate here.

BEFORE THE END OF THE CRUISE, WE WILL VISIT PUNTA DEL ESTE

Punta del Este is famous for its beaches, surfing, beautiful people and hot night scene. There are many tourist attractions, including amazing restaurants. It has different names like Monaco or Beverly Hills in South America. In the last few years, this area has become desirable and recognized as one of the most attractive, so you can meet world famous people there.

OUR CRUISE ENDS IN PIRIAPOLIS

Piriapolis is a charming Uruguayan town that is the opposite of Punta del Este. If someone wants to experience a little peace and visit without crowds of tourists, this is the perfect place. Beautiful, wide beach ideal for walks both during the day and in the evenings. You cannot complain about the company, because in many places, also in the port, there are sea lions.
